The SuperWomen of ACF
"Five years ago, Yoonjung Lera and Sawyer Kim founded ACF in Silicon Valley, driven by a shared passion for empowering young innovators. Recognizing the critical dropout point for underrepresented students in STEAM during middle school, they created ACF to engage girls and gender queer students early on with captivating programs, leadership training, and clear paths to success."
For Yoonjung, this mission is personal- a way to fulfill her goal of doing something meaningful, staying curious, and inspiring students to realize their potential, just as she did from her humble beginnings on a small island in Korea.
Why ACF?
ACF stands out by integrating cutting-edge technology, project-based learning, and future-ready skills into its curriculum, empowering students to innovate and address real-world challenges.
A key example is ACF’s Leadership Game Development Project, where 4th graders combined their love of video games with sustainability and entrepreneurship by designing an ocean pollution clean-up robot and creating a game to identify customers, hire employees, and distribute promotional flyers. This initiative exemplifies ACF’s mission to merge three critical components: youth enthusiasm for video games, addressing global sustainability issues, and fostering future skills like collaboration and entrepreneurship.
ACF prepares students to lead with innovation, passion, and purpose by exploring creative AI, STEAM, and other hands-on projects.
Envibrant- Our All-Female Founded Student Teen Startup!
enVibrant is a platform that allows environmental NPOs to effectively connect to personalized resources and volunteers (namely, students) through preference-based filters and suggestions, thereby creating a steady synergy between NPOs with a noble cause but a tight budget and youth passionate about creating a positive change, to advocate sustainability globally through a "do-more" approach.
SPLASH Ground: A Rising Voice for Diverse Teens!
Applied Computing Foundation (“ACF”) SplashGround team is looking for high school female and non-binary “staff writer interns” to join their bi-weekly newsletter writing staff. Their team name comes from two words: “Splash,” signifying positive impact, and “ground,” representing the community of youngsters, significantly underrepresented genders that they target. Apart from technology, SplashGround raises awareness of social issues.
